Armor and apparel slots

Could we have specific slots for armor and apparel? Since we already have to decide what armor to take based on weight and the various bonuses it provides, having it take up an inventory slot doesn't seem right.

Also armors that would aid in some way when you're just building or gathering resources would be nice. That'd provide an interesting choice when it came to what to outfit yourself with!
