In immersive mode you don't have a map. But, it would be a cool, small, feature to have the cartography table give the player access to the map but only at the cartography table. But how would you unlock sections of the map you ask? Instead of making it like normal, Irongate should add map rooms in generated structures, Small maps, Medium, and Large. A compass could be crafted with surtling cores, tin and Ancient Bark. This would be a nice change.
Another thing you could add would be the ability to grow things, like "Plant Everything" mod.
On the map, have automatic markers for: Boats, portals, and Beds.
Add items from "Corewood Furniture" Mod such as, Corewood Bookshelves (3 Sizes), Tables, chairs, tables, paintings, and other things like: Bookstacks, Sliverware, Plate and bowl stacks, candles, and Couches.
Add Windows and fences.
Something that has been on my mind for a while is how empty some of the biomes look. Add flowers and bushes to the plains, Add Norse villages to the Dark forest along with some more vegetation. Add cattails and long grass to the swamp. And add Ferns to all biomes.
