I think a good nocturnal enemy in the meadows could be foxes. They would be smart and fast moving; a good contrast to the cowardly Greylings we usually face.
The increased variety of monsters would help make things more interesting, and their cunning would keep the Meadows scary, even after multiple play throughs.
They could use the same model as wolf pups if they were colored orange.
