Sometimes when planting crops, plants don't ahve enough room and will eventually die out. Often, there is nothing anyone can do about this and the crop is given up for lost.
As the hammer can deconstruct building items and recover their material investment, so too should the Cultivator be able to harvest pre-mature plants to be able to reposition them and transplant them to a new area, recovering the 'seed' that was used to get that plant in the first place.
An additional possible consideration is to allow this feature to pull a berry bush and put the bush into inventory (with a very limited stack size, maybe 5 per stack), and then be able to have the ability to use the cultivator to re-plant the bush at a cultivated location similar to planting seeds...or you could make the berries the seeds, but I think transplanting the whole bush would serve the game better in the long run.
