After joining, friend can't interact in my server.

So me and my friend have been playing Valheim recently (via the xbox game pass), but yesterday when I joined his server I suddenly didn't see anything. The only thing I saw was the water, grass and our boat. I tried to rejoin several times, but that didn't help either. We also tried switching the server to my pc, but no luck. Then the roles are just reversed. Sometimes I do see our house/trees etc. but I can't interact with anything. We tried using the old save, but still no luck. Does anyone have any tips on how to resolve this? We have like 200 hours in this game and I really don't want to start over.

THis could be because your map is saved as "Legacy," and your best option would be to start anew.
It sucks, but it is what it is, buddy. I know... I know... I had to do it too
