To assist in placing objects with consistent height or spacing a string line tool would be very usefull.
I see it attaching to a snap point on an existing object (or Shift-Drag to manually align on the object) and then anchoured to a 2nd object in the same manner. The line would have a number of snap points along it at even intervals. These string line snap points would take precidence to snap points on other objects.
This would simplify all sorts of building operations, for example I currently need to make heavy use of the door edge snap points to get even / level spacing:
however, this "solution" is still limited to a flat slope, but a string line would be faster, easier, and more flexible. It fits in well with the story line as string lines have been in use well before Egyptian times.
