I hate having to make my kitchen look dumb with several chests around just to keep all the various meats, mushrooms, and dwarf eyes organized. I wish I could put all my mushrooms and carrots IN the spice rack and the station it's connected to will use anything in there as if it were in my inventory. Meat in the butcher block and so on. Maybe they're tiny storage, maybe items stack higher in there. Maybe they're big but only allow food, nothing else, etc.
It would be extremely nice to store all the wood I've been grinding in the chopping block and anything in that crafting bench's area will just pull from there. Keeps me from having to stop building projects to pick up wood from a chest over and over. Maybe adze stores fine wood only or something like that. etc, you get the idea.
