I would like to make the suggestion to tweak the general assault to make them more involving by creating events that create mobs bases around the map to try an regain the control region you have conquered.
Adding a general mecanic behind establishement of settlement in new region / island to make the game more dynamic. Having to destroy new found camps to prevent attack on the main settlement and these kind of things would make the Swarms more engaging i believe or altogether more immersive.
